Playful Engagement shoot at Tybee

We had a blast with one of our engaged couples out at Tybee a few weeks ago.  They are so playful with each other and we feel in love with them almost immediately.  We are so excited about covering their wedding next May. We asked Kristin about how her and Joshua met and this is what she had to say.......
"I am from Cleveland, OH, a total city girl.  I moved to Savannah 7 years ago and absolutely love it.  It is sooooo beautiful here and I love love love the beach!  Plus, NO SNOW!!!  :)  I do miss the hustle and bustle (shopping, activities, etc.) of the city sometimes but I wouldn't dream of leaving my new beautiful surroundings.
Joshua was born and raised in the Savannah area, Port Wentworth to Richmond Hill.  He is a true Southern Gentleman.  He hates the beach (well, our beaches - he likes tropical beaches with white sand and blue waters but who doesn't) but sometimes he'll go with me (that's how much he loves me).
We met while working at a restaurant (a second or third job for each of us) called Sam Snead's in Pooler.  We were quick to become friends!!  Unfortunately we were both in relationships at the time.  But that's what helped our friendship grow and when things didn't work out in our other relationships, we started dating.  We fell hard and fast!
I have a wound-up personality.  Always on the go and must get things accomplished!!  Josh on the other hand is very laid back, mellow and easy going.  What we love most about each other is that we perfectly balance one another.  He helps me slow down, take a break and relax a little. And I give him the motivation, kickstart he needs sometimes to get going.  Its wonderful to be marrying my best friend!  "

Sneak Peak-Shelby and Josh

This classy with a touch of country wedding took place in my hometown of Millen, Georgia.  Hanging Rock Plantation usually plays host to hunters the majority of the year but Shelby Burke had a mission to turn this hunters paradise into a beautiful wedding wonderland. With the help of friends and family that is exactly what she did.  The big day was extra special for me because I have known Shelby since she was a little girl.  Her family attended the same church as my husbands family and when I began my photography career, her family was one of my first family portrait shoots.  I have watched her grow into a beautiful young lady and was very honored to be covering this special day for her.  We have put together some of our favorite pictures from the day of the wedding and will also be posting some of our favs from her bridal shoot soon! Enjoy!

Beautiful Engagement Session in the Rain!

When we first talked to Jessie and Jason about their engagement pictures they asked if we could shoot their session in a graveyard.  At first it seemed very odd to me but as Jessie continued her story it seemed more than perfect. You see, she and Jason both work for the company who is in charge of the preservation of these historical beauties.  They spend every day on these hallowed grounds.  During our session they led us to all their favorite spots and they even talked about the people who reside there as if they were part of their family. They both knew almost every last name in the cemetery and a lot of the history behind the statues and other architectural landscape.  The day of the shoot it was raining and I called Jessie to see if she would like to reschedule and in her excited little voice she said to me.." No, It just makes it even better!" This turned out to be an awesome shoot.  It just goes to show that love can turn the most unlikely places into a romantic wonderland!
